I snagged this photo from www.fugyourself.com . I thought about posting a few days ago and decided not to....because of course everyone knows Beyonce is amazing and something to be marveled. Well, I just couldn't NOT comment on how incomprehensable her body is in this dress. The GFY girls kind of trashed this dress, but it reminds me of a modernized "Supremes" dress-and therefore is AWESOME. How ones waist can possibly be this much smaller than ones behind...I'm astounded. Work it, B!
I really want to find a t shirt like this, and not just because she's wearing it. It wouldn't be necessary for her to have worn previously-I just really want a cute baseball t-shirt with shorter sleeves but don't know where to look. I'm a big fan of the baseball T! Paired with running shorts-I can't think of anything more comfortable/cute. "Women's Baseball T" yielded very few wearable results. Hmmm.
These remain to be my fave dresses for now going on 4 years. I really do refer to them as my "pretty princess" dresses. They're just so light - all cotton, so no need to dry clean. They're both so classic, never go out of style. Navy is my favorite color as well-and you can't go wrong with white. I wore the white one yesterday and got tons of compliments-I think it was the belt. The one on the right was at Ele's wedding....6/3/06. Hard to believe that was almost a year ago. Very glad I got rid of the blond in my hair.
Here's my new summer/spring dress I got on my jaunt to Southpoint. I was really discouraged at first-trying on about 15 things at Nordstrom and finding nothing, while listening to the soundtrack of 14 year old girls saying "Mom, the 3 is too big...do they have a 1?". I then went to Bebe, which is not really my style, but the 50% off tops sign beckoned me from outside... Everything there didn't really fit-too big on the top/too small on the bottom.
I headed to Banana Republic and found this gorgeous jersey dress. It was a bit pricey, but it'll last me a while. I couldn't resist-it matches my eyes perfectly. Along with this I got a tan cropped cardigan and a navy blue longsleeve ruched t-shirt. Very nice!
I'm finding it EXTREMELY difficult to focus at work today. It's Good Friday, which is great. I sometimes feel a like a bit of a douche bag getting off of work for religious holidays, being that I'm not particularly religious. I'm not saying I think it's impossible for someone to have been crucified - it's happened a lot over the course of history, but you know, that whole rising from the dead thing...gets me every time! Well, in light of the fact that we ARE having a half day here at work-actually my department is the only one that's really here today (saw a few editors earlier), I've got a little fun planned for myself.
I am by no means a shopper. Today, however-I have the urge for something "cute". I really only like to shop alone. I always feel like I'm being a time drain if someone comes with me, and quite frankly, I don't like to have other peoples' opinions when I'm putting together an outfit. I don't want to think someone else's thoughts will change my decision on what to purchase or scrap. Maybe a top from Nordstrom or the like. Erika introduced me to Nordstrom last year-I always thought it would be too pricey, but they've got quite a range. Also excited about shopping being that I'm on the lower end of my normal weight range...I don't try anything on when I'm feeling chubs. It also helps that today is payday. :)
On an unrelated note, here's a cute license plate I snapped on the way home from work yesterday. Yes, folks-that's 40 in all its' 6 O'clock glory.
