Here's a short overview of the new house I'm sharing with Napoleon. I'm becoming accustomed to the curtains in my bedroom as they are, even though they are a little "rigged" up there. No blinds yet, so this is the solution for lack of privacy for now. The painting in the dining room I got from Cause for Paws for what I believe was around $30. I'm not completely sold on it hanging here where it blends in so much, but I think some baby blue place mats on the table would change that. I'm in love with the drawing in the living room. Napoleon found this at ECU. It was left in one of the studios in the art building for years, and since no one claimed it...you snooze, you lose. Then that's me, happy in my new bedroom. A real live bedroom-I never felt like I could really relax when it came time for bed in the studio-but my new boudoir is soley devoted to snoozing. Finally, we have Philly. He's a little jumping bean-lots of fun.
Finally, everything from the old apartment is moved into my new house that I'll be sharing with Napoleon. He's been so great about dealing with all of my crap lying the the middle of the living room yesterday and today...many many boxes which will soon go in the attic. Luckily we have some sort of storage to avoid having two toasters, microwaves...James Brown records. Today and yesterday reaffirmed that I am not a pack rat. I really didn't have too many things to move, but carting my belongings to and fro proves taxing when dealing with a cobblestone walkway and stairs. One thing I have too many of: coat hangers. No one should ever have this many coathangers, unless they are a stocker for the closets at Elle/Vogue etc.
Sure, it's cheeseball for me to title a blog with a John Cougar Mellencamp song-but what makes it absolutely perfect is the fact that I'll be moving in to this little pink dream in the very near future. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy where I live now but the fact is-it's just way too much of a "little baby" house. Grosvenor is a great location with downtown charm, I'd just rather have a bit more square footage. What hindered me from moving before has been solved by my very great friend, Napoleon. Nappy and I have known each other for 6 years-we met in our dorm, Tyler at ECU. Not ONLY is Nappy super cool-but he has this great dog, Philly. I've wanted a dog for a while now-a lab in fact-and I'm relishing the fact that I Philly will be our housemate too, and he has a great big yard to run around in!
I move in March 31st...just got off the horn with Barnes and Noble on a mad hunt for boxes, and couldn't be more excited. I love the bright green of my new room - it will pop nicely with the awesome curtains my sis made for me.
